AmitySoft receives ISO 9001 millennium version

The Chennai based software company, AmitySoft has been awarded KPMG for ISO 9001:2000,the latest updated certified by version of ISO 9001.With the certification, AmitySoft has achieved the distinction of being one of the first set of software companies in India to be ISO 9001:2000 compliant. The ISO 9001:2000,latest version of ISO standard, unlike its earlier version focuses more on effectiveness of the system than on documentation. The new standard adopts a process approach with emphasis on measurement, Analysis and Continuous Improvement. The company has built systems with process sophistication that facilitate early certification.
“Using the ISO 9001:2000 framework, it becomes easier to achieve even CMM Level 5 Maturity in software development”, said K.R.Jayakumar, Chief Executive officer, AmitySoft Technologies Pvt. Ltd. We have come out with very innovative metrics and process optimization through our prompt process system, which helps us to improve the efficiency of operation and improve customer satisfaction”, he added.
The new ISO 9001 framework expects the quality management system to be focused on understanding and meeting the customer’s current and future needs and exceeding the expectations, while trying to satisfy the needs. Process approach to achieving business objectives with a realization of the management of the successful deliveries to the customers, as a set of interrelated process, is key to the overall framework.
Suresh Shah, Executive Director, KPMG India, Said that, I am confident that software companies are going to benefit more by ISO 9001:2000.According to ISO, the new update version is a result of extensive surveys carried out with the user community to improve the standard.
